Before his long association with Upland, Michael was a Senior Vice President of Reliance Brokerage Services where he was in charge of the company's brokerage activities, a Senior Vice President of The Shidler Group, managing the marketing efforts for the Minneapolis office and a Senior Associate at Towle Real Estate Company (Colliers Turley Martin Tucker).

Houge has leased over a million square feet as a landlord and tenant representative and is a frequent contributor and author in various trade publications. Michael speaks frequently for panels and conferences on Investment Property Sales, Marketing, the Net-lease Industry, Social Networking for Commercial Real Estate, and on investing in real estate.


Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis. Mr. Houge has also earned the two most prestigious designations in the commercial real estate industry: Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). The combination of both designations is a rare feat, since only approximately 725 REALTORs currently hold both.
